Surprising New Info (and Some Tips) About Online Dating and Flirting!

•13 percent of men on dating sites are married. (ACK!)

•Men, more than women, like to control how much information is public about themselves (e.g. they untag their photos on Facebook more often than women).

•It’s best not to google someone before your first date. Let them make the first impression.

•The term “blind date” is outdated because we can go to the person’s Facebook page. True.

•Make your profile “skimmable” and easy for guys to read, says digital dating coach and eFlirt Expert founder Laurie Davis. Bullet points are good.

•In terms of your online dating profile, less is more. Put out just enough information to keep them interested in a first and second date. The more info you provide, the more likely a potential mate will find something “wrong.”

•Author and psychologist Dr. Robert Epstein talked about the “Click Problem”—if they don’t like one thing about you, they can just go back and click. It’s like pulling up to a bar with 50 million singles at it. Doh—!

•India has the lowest divorce rate. 95 percent of their marriages are arranged. (We need to go back to the notion of suitability, which we used to subscribe to centuries ago when our families were involved. Parents are more concerned with, Will you two get along?)

I thought this was interesting, I am not sure how many of you have gone online to date but I personally am not into it! I found that there are a lot of freaks out there. Most were just looking for sex. I even had a guy ask me if I would be interested in a sugar daddy. I could tell you more stories but I actually have met quite a few people who did find love online, so I don’t want to fully discourage anyone from trying it.

My advice is try it out, everyone has different experiences but be aware of the freaks and practice safe dating.  Always meet someone in a very public place when on a first date. You never know who is actually behind that computer screen!
