I will name him Rolex!
I met him in a bar when I was out with some girlfriends from my home town. I knew someone from the pack of men had his eyes on me but I was not sure who. I could just feel the intensity of someone’s stare. Before I knew it I turned to the right and there he was. He had jumped the table and got on the edge of the couch where I was sitting close by. He said “my name is ____and I can’t take my eyes off of you. I knew I would be so disappointed if I did not introduce myself to you before I left!” He then began to tell me a little about himself and I told him a little as well. He asked for my phone number because he had to get home to Seinfeld. I thought it was a little strange but I was intrigued by this guy. This is how I met ___ the guy who made me love me!
I am reminded of what it was that made me fall for him after watching a silly Life Time movie. In this movie the guy told the woman whom he had feelings for that he just liked who he was when he was with her. Well that is exactly how I felt about this man. I found myself so vulnerable with him. I was just so open and I didn’t care so much of what he thought. I somehow knew that he loved all my quirky ways. I loved being with someone who brought out the adventure of expressing my feelings, I didn’t have to hide or be embarrassed by anything I thought or felt. I had never experienced that before. We dated off and on for over two years and till this day we still talk.
There are good reasons that this relationship didn’t work, and actually I mean Great reasons. But, I will always appreciate the way I felt around him. Being completely vulnerable is one of the most freeing feelings and had I not met him, I don’t think I would have ever experienced that feeling or its importance.
It is so important to remember that people come into our lives for reasons and if we take the positive then we have a treasure. I will forever treasure the gift that he gave me, for the first time, I was not afraid to express myself or my feelings and it felt so amazing!
